Critical Stress Incidence Debriefing and Diffusing: During times of disruptive change, such as a sudden death, an accident in the workplace, or psychological threat to the safety or well-being of the individual or company; individuals and organizations are sometimes ill equipped to handle such a sudden situation. Others who have been affected by the traumatic situation may need professional attention. Debriefing allows those involved to process the event and reflect on the impact.
Clinical Supervision: For most of my professional career in Employee Assistance Programs, I have been a clinical supervisor to former interns who are now Social Workers and/or Professional Counselors. The aim of supervision is to discuss cases and professional issues that can help the trainee gain some insight and training to help their clients. I always believe in the power of mentorship and this is where it begins.
WORKSHOPS: These trainings are offered for an hour to an hour and-a-half. These tend to be interactive but presentations will be tailored to the audience.
Compassion Fatigue: This is a cumulative physical, emotional and psychological effect of exposure to traumatic events and stories. This is an extreme form of burnout where one has difficulty in separating what is professional and what is personal. This presentation outlines how this looks like and the steps to ensure its prevention.
Cultural Diversity: Inclusion breakthrough brings about the cumulative talents of people from diverse cultural backgrounds. In this experiential workshop, participants will learn from each other and that difference equals strengths and not deficits. Difference is what makes us unique and despite these differences, there will be threads along the way that we have in common that we didn't know. This unraveling is truly remarkable and the results can often yield a more cohesive work group or team.

Participants will gain understanding in the power of resilience.
Stress Management through Mindfulness Meditation: How do we deal with the demands of work and life stress without thinking that you are just about to go crazy? Does stress equal depression and anxiety? What are some of the ways that you have tried to cope but couldn't or didn't know how? This workshop will help define the type of stress that you are going through, the strategies that you can use to cope successfully using Mindfullness Medtation Techniques.
Trauma Informed Care: How does one respond to trauma and its impact on individuals, families, and children? Trauma informed care conveys a purposeful, therapeutic approach to individuals exposed to trauma and can operate on many levels. This involves the provision of care, borrowing from the field of cultural competence is "trauma competent". This workshop will highlight the different forms of trauma, how this is manifested and how mental health providers can assist in the safety and well-being of their clients.
Work-Life Balance: Many Americans are experiencing burnout due to overwork and increased stress. This condition is seen in nearly all occupations from blue collar workers to upper management. Over the past decade, a rise in workplace violence and an increase in levels of absenteeism as well as rising workers' compensation claims are all evidence of an unhealthy work life balance. A work-life balance can reduce stress and restore some harmony in your life.
Workplace Violence Prevention: What can one do when domestic violence comes into the workplace? How does a company deal with a disgruntled employee?
